Crisis? What crisis? (part deux)

We blogged yesterday about the significant improvement in the manufacturing index. This completely debunks the claim of LabourGreenNZFirstMana that manufacturing is in crisis.

For those who think that this is just a blip or a coincidence, here (courtesy of DPF) is the progress of the Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) since August 2002:

The numbers don't lie. They bottomed out just at the time that National took office in November 2008. Since then, it's been pretty much all an upward trend, with the normal periodic blips.

Perhaps LabourGreenNZFirstMana should have started its "parliamentary inquiry" back in mid-2008 when Labour was still in government and could have actually done something more than bleat about a problem that isn't really a problem at all.
