Duncan Garner has been copping it from Labour MP's last night and this morning after his tweets last night. Annette King has called him a liar, and Grant Robertson and Chris Hipkins have also had very unparliamentary things to say about Garner.
But Duncan Garner isn't going anywhere, and has in fact defended his position this afternoon; you can listen here.
Garner is emphatic; he has a source inside the Labour Party caucus, and another source outside but very close to caucus. He received a text message last night from his caucus source telling him what he subsequently tweeted. Garner says "I did not make this up. I am careful about my sources. I stand by my internal source, and my external source."
Duncan Garner has nothing to gain by lying about this. On the other hand, if David Cunliffe became leader of the Labour Party, a number of Labour MP's would have a whole lot to lose, including ultimately their jobs.
