Prince William and Duchess Catherine are the proud parents of an 8lb6oz baby boy; a right royal baby who will be third in line to the throne.
All are reported to be well, and as yet there is no name, but doubtless the bookies will be having a field day as they bank all the dosh wagered on the birth of a royal princess. A representative of bookmakers Paddy Power was interviewed on Newstalk ZB, and advised that betting had been 60/40 in favour of a baby girl.
In the meantime, we send our congratulations to the Cambridges from our distant Antipodean outpost. The birth of a child is always an event of significance whether the child is born into royalty, or into more humble circumstances.
