The historic Aparima Tavern in Riverton was gutted by fire yesterday.
It's always a shame to see historic buildings being destroyed like this. We don't know if it's the only watering hole in Riverton, or whether the good folk who inhabit the town will have to go further afield to wet their whistles after a hard day's toil.
But our thoughts are with the residents of Riverton, including of course Robert Guyton. This may even present him with a commercial opportunity in the local beverage market!
