It was only in desperation that the Australian Labor Party turned back to Kevin Rudd as its leader. Labor must have known the risk involved.

And it hasn't taken long for the Liberals to go into attack mode:

The Ruddfacts campaign will quickly wipe out most of the polling gains for Labor since its change of leadership. Mr Rudd may be able to stem the bleeding, but Labor is moribund and it's demise is imminent; just as soon as Rudd confirms the election date.
