Cunliffe joins the race
Parliament's worst-kept secret is out; David Cunliffe is standing for the leadership of the Labour Party.
Interestingly, quite a number of his caucus colleagues have turned out to support him including Louisa Wall, Iain Lees-Galloway, Sue Moroney and Nanaia Mahuta, who was his running mate for deputy leader when he last contested the leadership in 2011.
His announcement has been the most stage-managed of the three to date, with a presidential style announcement of his candidacy.
The race is on; who will emerge triumphant, and what collateral damage will be done along the way?
