David Shearer is bound to come under more pressure after last night's rather disappointing Roy Morgan poll result. Those Labour Party members who have put him on notice and then dropped that into a conversation with a member of the Press Gallery will be especially concerned.
So who is that MP or MP's? Today we look at Labour's #4 ranked MP, Jacinda Ardern.
Ms Ardern entered Parliament at the 2008 General Election. Her candidacy was strongly endorsed by former Labour leader Helen Clark. When Miss Clark resigned as an MP, David Shearer took her place, with Miss Clark's blessing and endorsement.
Jacinda Ardern's star is in the ascendancy, although the jury is out on whether she has the necessary skills for it to ascend to the fullest extent. But Mr Shearer promoted Ms Ardern to #4 on Labour's front bench, and we're sure that she was very grateful for that. We would be surprised if she was the one who was talking out of school, even though there has been speculation that a Robertson/Ardern or even a Cunliffe/Ardern pairing could be what is needed to lead Labour out of the wilderness and into the electoral Promised Land. Accordingly, we rank her as a 2/10 probability of being the guilty party.
We are approaching some very interesting members. Tune in over the next few days, and you may see some probability ratings significantly higher than those of David Parker and Jacinda Ardern.
Whodunnit?
