A Krudd of a Caption Contest

Why the sour face Kevin?

Yeah, sure; we've had a few Caption Contests lately, but this is one photograph that just can't be passed over.

You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

We do have to say though; it reminded us of this guy:

The Contenders Caption Contest

The battle for the Labour Party leadership is on in earnest. And if the Stuff story we've just seen is to be believed, the gloves are off.

The story also had this image of two of The Contenders; David "The New Lynn Lip" Cunliffe and Shane "Gorilla" Jones; so you know what's coming next!

You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

Let's get ready to rumble!!

A "touching" Caption Contest

We had visitors last night, so we didn't get to see the Native Affairs debate with the three confirmed candidates for the Labour Party leadership. It's online here however, and we'll watch it later in the day when we can make a dent in the pile of work on our desk.

But apparently there was one really touching moment, and the Native Affairs people kindly posted the moment via their Facebook page:

Now there's all sorts of imagery that this picture conjures up, and that means that it's a natural for a Caption Contest. So you know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

The floor is yours...

The Dave 'n' Julia Caption Contest

As we've said before, some photographs just cry out for a Caption Contest; and this is one of those:

You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

We'll get things started:

Well Julia; now I know what it's like to be Rudded. But it's been a Helen of an experience...

The Shearer Snapper Caption Contest

We wouldn't have believed it had we not seen it with our own eyes, but David Shearer brought two dead fish into Parliament's Debating Chamber this afternoon. Here's the evidence

Now there's all sorts of imagery around this picture. So you know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.
We'll kick it off with a starter for ten:

Which of these three will go off first?

UPDATE: James Stephenson posted this link in the comments, but it's worth bringing forward to the front page; a satirical representation of Question Time today, with Michael Palin as David Shearer, John Cleese as John Key:

The Caption Contest to end all Caption Contests

Yeah; we know we've already had a Caption Contest today, but this photograph is just too good to let someone else get it first! Scott Simpson posts on Facebook:

As Chair of the Justice & Electoral select committee I had committee members just where I wanted them during our visit to the Wellington District Court today. In the cell are from left Kate Wilkinson, Andrew Little, David Clendon, Ian McKelvie, Denis O'Rourke and Paul Foster-Bell.

You know the rules; You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

And whilst the photograph above is probably only 115 MP's short of being perfect, we're sure that you'll all agree that it represents a good start!

KRudd Caption Contest

In showbiz, they say that you should never work with kids or animals. But should the same advice apply in politics? Check this out:

You know the rules; You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal (although this IS Kevin Rudd!). Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

Go on; you know you want to...

This way or that Caption Contest

What's David Shearer up to here?

You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

Go on; you know you want to! But we'll get you started...

It's easy; if you come from this way, we'll sell you whatever you want. But if you happen to come from THAT way...

The Dave 'n' Shane Caption Contest

Shane Jones went along last night to support David Shearer on the Backbenchers programme; read into that whatever you wish. He's even posted a photograph on Facebook; this one:

It's not the most flattering photograph of Mr Jones we've ever seen, which makes Jones himself putting it into the public domain even more interesting. But it's a natural for a Caption Contest.

You know the rules; You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

Go on; you know you want to!

David Shearer Caption Contest

We haven't had a Caption Contest since our last Caption Contest, and it's a crappy Friday afternoon, so when we saw this picture a few minutes ago, the die was cast:

You know the rules; You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

We'll kick it off with a starter for ten:

Are you serious? The war-lords want me back? When do I start?

The John 'n' Julia Caption Contest

Some photographs that we see just scream out for a Caption Contest, and the one that follows is no exception:

So what could John Key be saying to Julia Gillard? You know the rules; You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

We'll get the ball rolling:

"That knife you used on KRudd in '10; did you ever give it to Trevor Mallard?

Julia Gillard Caption Contest

Julia Gillard is copping all sorts of flak for this staged photo of her apparently knitting a toy kangaroo for the royal baby. Headlines such as "Spins and Needles", "PM tries to knit herself out of poll doldrums" and "Julia Gillard in "absurd" Royal Baby knitting photo" grace cyberspace.

Here's the photo in question and it's just begging for a caption. You should know the rules by now; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.
We'll get the ball (of wool) rolling:

Can you let Wills and Kate know that I'll be able to knit full-time for them after September

The floor is yours...

Dave & Russ Caption Contest

The Tracy Watkins story we blogged about earlier was headed by this photograph of Russel Norman and David Shearer, and we couldn't resist...

You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

We'll give you a starter for 10:

Would you buy a used car from these men?

A Kiwi Caption Contest

Here's John Key, as you've possibly never seen him before:

That photo is such a natural for a Caption Contest that we'll get one up before any of the other usual suspects! You know the rules; You know the rules; keep 'em short, humourous and pithy, and don't get unnecessarily personal. Beyond that, you're limited only by your own imagination.

It's not quite the Wearable Art that Helen Clark modelled, but fair dues to the PM for being willing to be mocked, as doubtless he will be.
